Support for realising New Member and Associated States' potentials in transport research
The TransNEW project has mapped the transport research potential in all the New Member and Associated States.
TransNEW has covered all transport modes, including Aeronautics and exploited the synergies between air transport and surface transport. This means that the national transport research capability for 26 Countries were defined and this information is now available to all through the downloading of country, regional and mode reports and the use of a publicly accessible user-friendly database.
One of the main objectives of the TransNEW project was to develop an International database that highlights the strengths and weaknesses in transport research both country and region-wide. This database is now available for public access via this website to enable networking and partner searching. The database will continue to grow after the life of the project as information can be directly input by any interested parties. Click here to access the database.
TransNEW was a Support Action under the European Commission Seventh Framework (2007-2013) Theme TPT.2008.8 Assessing, analysing and defining strategies and realising new member and Associated States' potentials in transport research.
TransNEW was a 24-month project, has 15 Partners and covers 26 countries.
To achieve the overall goals of the project the work was separated into 8 Work Packages. Work Packages 1-5 cover the country specific research whilst the other 3 Work packages are Mode Specific, Dissemination and the database.
